Christmas Arts at Sweely Estate Winery

The Firnew Farm Artists' Circle's Christmas show will open at Sweely Estate Winery, 6109 Wolftown-Hood Road, Madison, VA 22727, November 20th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. It will be a celebration of local arts that will include not only artists: Tucker Hill, Lou Messa, Chee Ricketts, Henry Wingate,Sharon Zarambo to name a few; but also, the music of The Possum Ridge String Band. The wines will be from Sweely's own vines and hors d'oeurves will feature other Route 230 foods from Wolf Creek Farm and Kites Ham.

The show will be open to the public until December 3, 2009.

The group of local artists meet weekly at The Studio at Firnew Farm in Madison County. Beginning in the fall of 2004, as a plein-air painting group ; it grew into a group of 45 artists who now both work together and review and critique each other's new works. The range of creativity seems to have no bounds, with painters, textile artists, photographers, poets and musicians inspiring one another to continually raise the bar of their personal expression.

The artists will work with local school children to create hand crafted ornaments to decorate a holiday tree int he Gallery of the Winery. 100% of the proceeds will benefit MESA, the Madison Emergency Services Association.
